Relative Adverbs
The adverbs that relate a subordinate clause withe the principal clause are known a relative adverbs. Unlike English the relative adverbs in Hmar are not always idetical with interrogative pronouns.
The following examples in sentence could be seen.
/hílá:ihí ánìh kán ùm ná cù/
(here) (it is) (our) (stay) (is)
‘this is where we live’

/í hù hùn mì (hù) hrìl rh/
(you come) (intend)(time) (me) (let) (tell) (order)
|______When_______|
‘let me know when you are coming’

 
/mí:n ánèi tám pòu lèh á dìt tám èl/
(by man) ((he has)(much) (when) (he) (want) (more) (so)
‘the more men have, the more he desires'

 
/à hú ìnhmá pòu lèh à tá:díìn á hà (lèm) anél/
