MY GOD

Many years ago, there was agreat famine in Orissa. Survival was a big problem for the people. During the famine’, many people died and the rest left the country.

One day, a lady (widow) brought her eight year old son to Gopabandhu Dash. She went away after leaving her son to him. After sometime Gopabandhu Dash gave the boy to a man from Rajasthan. He adopted the child. He named the boy as Drubocharan Burman. He studied in the Duduwala University in Rajasthan and got doctorate degree. Later he became the principal there.

He married a Rajasthani lady. He got a child.

His mother became very old and weak. She was leading a sorrowful life in Orissa by carrying manure basket. Drubocharan Burman did not know this.

Dr. Drubocharan Burman’s wife and son died. He also led a sorrowful life.

Dr. Drubocharan was a strong devotee of Lord Jaganath. During his prayer, he used to express his sorrows to Lord Jaganath. One day he saw his mother in his dream carrying manure basket with grief.

He wanted to go to Puri to worship Lord Jaganath. He wanted to see his mother also. He came to Puri on one full moon day.

After the prayer in thetemple he asked a man who was standing nearby about the Nakpur village where his mother was living. Surprisingly, that man was from the Nakpur village. So, he went with him to Nakpur.

After getting down from the bus, he entered into a tea shop to drink tea. At that time, he saw his mother going with manure basket on her head. Burman went to her and asked whether she could identify him whom she had sent 40 years ago. She looked at him and the manure basket fell downfrom her head. She identified him. Tears rolled down from their eyes out of joy.

Later Burman took his mother to Rajasthan. People told that it would be possible only because of the mercy of Lord Jaganath.
