(as defined above) : ‘you people and we’. Analogising, some, not all, speakers have pfolikhrumüi composed of pfole and ikhrumüi : ‘they people and we’.

The Dual is formed by suffixing hĩ/ hi / he of the cardinal kahĩ ‘two’ to the singular pronominal forms. First person has exclusive-inclusive pronoun distinction in the dual. ahĩ / ahi / ahe formed by suffixing the second syllable of the cardinal is an inclusive dual. The exclusive dual is realised when the no speaker component is specified in the form of a separate word, which then may be said to formally replace the category of the listener that is lexically included in the inclusive dual form.

Only the first person singular pronoun has stem alternants : ai/ay, the nominative form alternates optionally with a in the ergative, obligatorily becomes ayi in its oblique form and a in the genitive. All the other pronouns have their oblique forms marked by -yi except the genitive which is formally the same as the nominative/ergative.

Person Agreement in Noun

Possesses nouns with the prefix o- discussed earlier, typically optionally, agree with the singular subject NP as to person. Agreement with first person pronouns is felt to be more felicitous than with second and third person pronouns although agreement with the latter is distinctly possible.
