Habitual
The habitual mood expresses an action which was done regularly in the past time. The suffix is -i ~ -vi ~ -bi.
 
na:nu dinomi?e ge:de? é mecceli o:viteni
 ‘I used to take the she-buffalo for gazing everyday’
na:nuņedaņi appuu kaata o:hanaho:mbiviteni 
‘I used to take it to the river and wash it’
evasi dinomi?e e:yu mi:vitesi
‘he used to bathe everyday’
ma:mbu dinomi?e tinimbitomi 
‘we used to eat everyday’

Obligative
6.7.7.1.


 
The obligative mood expresses compulsion. The suffix is -ayi which is added to the verb root and which in turn is followed by the 3rd singular non-masculine non-past or past forms of man ‘to be’
 
na:nu hannayi macce  ‘I had to go’
ma:mbu hannayi macce  ‘we had to go’
na:nu hannayi manne  ‘I have to go’
ma:mbu hannayi manne  ‘we have to go’

When it expresses imposition of an obligation on the subject the infinitive form of the verb with -eli as the suffix is used followed by the form ‘vele’ which means ‘should, must’ (of.6.12.1.4.)
ni:nu haheli vele ‘you should go’
evasi haheli vele  ‘he should go’

Aspect is a grammatical category of the verb indicating not so much location or event or state in time but duration, etc.

Kuvi has two aspects which combine with features of tense and mood--Durative or continuous Aspect an· perfect Aspect

Aspect in Kuvi is expressed by using the verb root which is followed by the aspectual suffix which is then followed by the auxiliary man ‘to be’ which is marked for past or non-past and is followed by the person -number-gender suffix, to give the past and non-past aspectual forms of the verb respectively.

Durative
 

The durative suffix is -i ~ -hi

The present Durative is used

Interchangeably with the simple present. 
 
na:nu e:yu mi:? ĩ ‘I bathe’
na:nu e:yu mi:thi ma:? ĩ ‘I bathe/am bathing’

6.8.1.1.2
 
For actions happening at the time of the speech act.
ja:ata poţa: ŗi:hi mannu
‘The birds of the jungle are chirping’
evasi mah?a:paţţu tinji mannesi
‘He is eating mangoes
6.8.1.1.3. For a definite occurrence of the action or event in the immediate future. 
na:nu ijjo hajji ma:? ĩ
‘I am going home’
