3.1.7. Post-Positins:
Post-positions are formally different from case-suffixes in that they can be added to the genitive from of the noun as well as to the nominative form. The post-positions can occur independently without being added to any noun. The post-position behaves like a noun in that the locative, the ablative and the genitive suffixes are added to them.

It may be noted that there are post-positions which have the same meaning as some case suffixes such as associative and ablative.
