CHAPTER-4

/cún/ which is derived from /chún/ carries various shades of meaning. It generally stands for ‘and’, sometimes for ‘for’, ‘than’, and ‘thus’. In the examples for complex sentences under ‘As-clause’, it stands for ‘then’.

CHAPTER-5

The term ‘subject pronoun’ here includes subject noun also. When a noun occurs as the subject in the sentence it is invariably represented by a 3p pronoun in the predicate slot. This pronoun occurs preferably before the verb, and if the verb is compound one, the pronoun occurs just before the last auxiliary. If the subject noun is in the singular, the pronoun in the predicate slot is /à/ ‘he/she/it’ and if the subject noun is in the plural, the pronoun is /àn/ ‘they’.
