Some adjectives can function as nouns. In that case adjectives functioning as nouns refer to human nouns or some understood object because the the noun head in the phrase is optionally dropped. A few examples are :

 Inflection
 

On the basis of inflection there are two classes of adjectives; one class of adjectives show the distinction of gender, number and case is termed as inflectional adjectives and the other class of adjectives is non inflectional, i.e., does not show any marked distinction of gender number and case. Inflectional adjective shows agreement with the noun it qualifies.
 

Following are the two classes of adjectives :
 

(i) rtt- 

‘red class’

(ii) go

‘round’ class


The /rtt-/ class adjectives inflect like M
1 /ger-/ ‘boy’ in masculine and Fi /ger-/ girl in feminine for two numbers (singular & plural) and two case forms (direct and oblique).
 

Paradigm of /rtt-/ ‘red’ may be given below :
