ABUJHMARIA GRAMMAR

Future Suffix
In Abujhmaria the future suffixes are -a:n, -a:k -a:r. Among these -a:n occurs before the third person pronominal suffixes; -a:k occurs before the first and second person pronominal suffixes whereas -a:r occurs after the 3rd feminine marker.
The future allomorph -a:n of Abujhmaria, the Gondi future allomorphs -n and a:n, the present suffrix -a:n of Koya present adjective participle are related to the allomorph -n- of the Kolami durative tense and also the -n- allomorphs of the Kui future tense as well as to (-in -n) of the Kui future adjective.
The other future suffix of Abujhmaria -a:k may be related to PDr. future suffix *-kk ( *-k). The reflexes of this suffix occur in Tamil, Malayalam, Kota, Toa, Koagu, Kannaa, Gondi, the Kolami-Parji subgroup and probably also Brahui.
In Gondi (Adilabad) also the suffix -k- (with a variant -ak) occurs in the 1st and 2nd persons of the future tense. Koya the irrealis -k’o: and the hortative -k- are also derived from this Proto suffix according to Subrahmanyam (1971 : 311).
Infinitive:
The genuine infinitive suffix in Dravidian is -a. It is found in Tamil, Old Malayalam, Kannaa, Telugu, Gondi, Kui and (rarely) Kurux. Since these languages represent all the three main subgroups, the suffix can be reconstructed for Proto-Dravidain.
