3.1.2. Derived Pronouns
Both demonstrative and interrogative pronouns are classified under derived pronouns. These pronouns show gender-number distinctions.
3.1.2.1. Demonstrative Pronouns
3.1.2.1.1. Remote Demonstrative Pronouns
     {av-}
      av-, a-, am-
3.1.2.1.1.1. av- occurs before the gender- number markers -an (3.6.1.1.), -a (3.6.2.1.) and -ar (3.5.2.1.2.)
av-an (5.22) > avä `that man’
av-a (5.23) > ava `that woman’
av-ar (5.19) > avaru `they’
3.1.2.1.1.2. a- occurs before the neuter singular -d (3.6.3.1.) and plural -vei (3.6.4.1.)
a-d (5.19) > adu `that’
a-vei > avei `those’
3.1.2.1.1.3. am- occurs elsewhere.
am-ma > amma `that boy’
3.1.2.1.2. Proximate Demonstrative Pronouns
     {iv-}
      iv-, i-, im-
3.1.2.1.2.1. iv- occurs before the gender-number markers -an (3.6.1.1.), a (3.6.2.1.) and -ar (3.5.2.1.2.)
iv-an (5.22) > ivä `this man’
iv-a (5.23) > iva `this woman’
iv-ar (5.19) > ivaru `they’
3.1.2.1.2.2. -i occurs before the neuter singular -d (3.6.3.1.) and the neuter plural -vei (3.6.4.1.)
i-d (5.19 > idu `this’
i-vei > ivei `these’
3.1.2.1.2.3. in- occurs before the masculine singular -ma (3.6.1.3.)
im-ma > imma ‘this boy’
