2.8.2. Medial Syllable
There are five medial syllable types. Among them two are open in nature and three close syllables. They are, -cv-, -c- and -cvc-, cc-, -ccvc- respectively.
Open Syllable
-cv- paal-ka-rä `milkman’
-c- daR-buu-su-i `watermelon’
Close Syllable
-cvc- me-rud-du `medicine’
-cc- äg-gäär-su `seasoning in oil’
-ccvc- uu-ru-gvu-e `leader’
2.8.3. Final Syllable
There are five final syllable types identified. They are, -cv-, -c, -ccv, -cvc and -cc. In that, three are open syllables and two are close syllables.
Open Syllable
-cv ki-Rub-ba `cheeta’
-c vaa-yoo `can you come’
-ccv tam-bu `Tamil’
Close Syllable
-cvc- ta-kar `tin’
-cc pi-i-ma:n `spotted deer’
