2.6. Clusters
2.6.1. Consonant Clusters
The consonant clusters occuring in Urali can be divided into two groups. They are,
i) Initial consonant clusters and,
ii) Medial consonant clusters
Among the consonant clusters, three initial clusters, sixtyone medial, two consonant clusters and thirteen medial three consonant clusters are identified.
2.6.1.1. Initial Clusters
kv- /kva:lu/ `musical instrument’
k- /ka:su/ `glass’
gv- /gvue/ `elder of the village’
2.6.1.2. Medial Clusters
Medial Two Consonant Clusters
Under medial two consonant clusters there are two categories, namely identical or geminated clusters, that is, C1 C1 type and non-geminated or nonidentical clusters, that is, C1 C2 type.
Identical Clusters (C1  C1)

-bb- /kiRubbä/ `cheeta’
-tt- /kettu/ `scrape,neck’
-dd- /meruddu/ `medicine’
-- /keu/ `tie’
-- /ti:gai/ `match stick’

-gg- /äggä:rsu/ `seasoning in the oil’
-cc- /kucci kangu/ `tapioca’
-jj- /äjje/ `track’
-ss- /veissa/ `light’
-mm- /kummuu/ `worship’
-nn- /konne va:y/ `stammer’
-- /kau/ `eye’
-ll- /kallu/ `stone’
- /kalle/ 'ground nut'
-RR- /suRRu/ `wander’
