6.5 Sentence conjoining
Two or more independent sentences in Urali can be conjoined by the addition of certain conjunctive particles. In the process of conjoining, generally the repeated phrased in the later sentence may be optionally deleted. The two kinds of sentence conjoining noticed in Urali are,
i) Cumulative conjoining
ii) Disjunctive conjoining
6.5.1 Cumulative conjoining
There are two sub-categories in this type of conjunction.
6.5.1.1 First category involves two or more sentences where the conjoining is effected by the addition of the conjoining particles-um- to the focus of the conjoining in each sentence.
      i)   ra:mä vandä ‘Raman came’
      ii)   kuruä vandä ‘blind (man) came’
            ra:manum kuruanumvanda:ru ‘Raman and (the) blind (man) came’
      iii)   na:nu sakke tinnuge ‘I am eating jackfruit and yam’
            I - jackfruit - eat (P.T.)
            na:nu se:ne kangu - tinnuge
            I - yam - eat (P.T.)
            na:nu sakkeyum se:ne
            kangum tinnuge
      iv)   na:nu eudine ‘I and she (both) wrote’
            I - wrote (P.T.)
            ava - eudina
            she - wrote (P.T.)
            na:num avaum eudine:mu
6.5.1.2 Second type involves the conjoining of a cardinal base to the fraction of the numeral ‘one’. This type of conjoining is attested by the addition of the conjunctive particle -e:- to the cardinal base.
                  reu ‘two’
                  mukka:l ‘three quarter’
                  rene:mukka:lu ‘two and three quarter’
                  ombadu ‘nine’
                  ka:l ‘quarter’
                  ombade:ka:lu ‘nine and quarter’
