4.6. Tense
Only past and nonpast tenses are noticed in Urali.
4.6.1. Past tense
      St.- [Tr.] - [Cau.] - {-in-}
       -in-, -nd, -t, -dd-, -d-, and -n
4.6.1.1. -in- occurs in the following seven conditions.
i) It occurs with the verbs of Class I inherent transitive stems (4.1.1.1)
   ekk-in-en (5.24) > ekkine ‘(I) kicked’
   aav-in-iri > aaviniri ‘(you pl.) worshiped’
   ujj-in-iri > ujjiniri ‘(you pl.) washed’
   tumb-in-e:m (5.19) > tumbine:mu ‘(we) inserted’
   gudd-in-a (5.23) > guddina ‘(she) kicked with fist’
   va:s-in-an (5.22) > va:sinä ‘(he) combed’
   ii ) it occurs with verbs of class I 'transitive1(4.1.1.2.1)
   alemo:d-in-iri > alemo:diniri ‘(you pl.) wandered’
   oa:R-in-en (5.24) > oa:Rine ‘(I) blabbered’
   pu-in-ad (5.19) > puinadu ‘(it) rose’
   tumm-in-an (5.22) > tumminä ‘(he) sneezed’
   naung-in-a (5.23) > naungina ‘(she) trembled’
   iii) It occurs with verbs of class I Intransitive2 stems (4.1.1.2.2.) immediately after the intransitive verb stem and also the transitive marker -k-
paa:g-in-ad (5.19) > paa:ginadu (Intr.) ‘(it) acquainted’
   paa:g-k-in-en (5.5,24) > paa:kkine (Tr.) ‘(I) acquainted’
   surug-in-ad (5.19) > suruginadu (Intr.) ‘(it) shrunk’
   surug-k-in-iri (5.5) > surukkiniri (Tr.) ‘(you pl.) shrank’
