Similar to the formation of the number for 90, the number for 900 is formed by to + a:yira (5.18) > toa:yira.
The multiples of thousand are formed by the addition of the numeral forms of two, three, four etc. plus the cardinals form of thousand.
      re-a:yira > rea:yira ‘two thousand’
      mu:nR-a:yira > mu:nRa:yira ‘three thousand’
      patt-a:y:ra > patta:yira ‘ten thousand’
      pad-i-na:l-a:yira > padina:la:yira ‘fourteen thousand’
      pad-in-anj-a:yira > padinanja:yira ‘fifteen thousand’
      pad-an-a:R-a:yira > padana:Ra:yira ‘sixteen thousand’
The multiples of ten beginning from twenty including the numbers hundred thousand and lakh plus one to nine are expressed in a complex construction with an additional morpheme linked in between the two numerals.
iru-patt-i-mu:nR (5.15.19) > iruvattimu:nRu ‘twenty three’
nu:tt-i-e (5.19) > nu:ttieu ‘hundred and eight’
muC-nu:tt-i-na:l (5.12,19) > munnu:ttina:lu ‘three hundred and four’
a:yiratt-i-nu:tt-i-ė: (5.19) > a:yirattinu:ttiė:u ‘one thousand one hundred and seven’
leccatt-i-pad-an-e (5.19) > leccattipadaneu ‘one lakh and eighteen’
Personal nouns derived from numbers
Personal suffixes such as -an (3.6.1.1) and -i (3.6.2.6) are added directly to the numeral forms to derive the personal nouns.
      orutt-an (5.22) > oruttä ‘one man’
      orutt-i > orutti ‘one woman’
Ordinals
While forming the ordinals, the suffix -a:va· is added to the cardinal base.
      onR-a:va (5.19) > onRa:vau ‘first’
      anj-a:va (5.19) > anja:vau ‘fifth’
Basic Numbers
            onR- ‘one’
            re- ‘two’
            mu:nR- ‘three’
            na:l- ‘four’
