Concord

Bhumij has three persons namely First Person, Second Person and Third Person. The First Person has three numbers namely singular, dual and plural. The dual has further distinction of inclusive and exclusive of addressee. The second person has three numbers namely singular, dual and plural. The Third Person is divided into animate and inanimate with no gender distinction in the animate. Both the Third Person pronouns have three numbers, namely singular, dual and plural. The verbs show agreement with the personal pronouns by repeating the pronoun itself or part of it. This is illustrated in the following sentences :
